TTEITI Team to Attend Regional EITI Training in the Dominican Republic

Members of the TTEITI Steering Committee and Secretariat will be attending the annual Regional training for EITI countries in the Caribbean and Latin America from Tuesday, November 28 to Thursday, November 30 in the Dominican Republic.

The workshop, which is under the theme “Building Capacity for Impactful Implementation” will bring together representatives from Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Guyana, Columbia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador and Argentina to explore options for mainstreaming transparency and public disclosure of data in government systems.  Participants will discuss issues that are relevant to the region and take stock of their country’s progress with beneficial ownership disclosures.

The Philippines, which was recently recognized as the first country to achieve satisfactory progress against the EITI Standard, will also be present to share their successful experience at the workshop.

The TTEITI Multi-Stakeholder Group (or the TTEITI Steering Committee) will be represented by Gia Gaspard-Taylor from the Network of NGOs of Trinidad and Tobago for the Advancement of Women, Kathy-Ann Holder from the Ministry of Finance and Melanie Richards who represents the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
